This year’s program begins January 1, 2019 and runs through September 30, 2019. If you select biometric screening as one of your Health Activities, it must be completed between January 1-September 30, 2019.

Program Questions

Employees enrolled in the Medica insurance plan offered by the City are eligible to participate. The program includes participating in Health Activities that earn points towards the Well-being Program incentive. Click on the “Start Here” tab to the left for more information.
The real incentive is better health! The bonus: For earning 200 points you will receive $300 HRA contribution in 2019. By earning an additional 100 points, you will receive an additional $600 into your HRA for a total of $900 into your Wealthcare Account in 2020. PLUS: Medica will send you a $20 Reward gift card from a list of retailers for every 100 points you earn, up to 500 points or $100.
Monthly contributions will begin January, 2020.

Biometric Screening

The onsite biometric screening is one way to assess your risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. It does not replace your annual physical exam. A health professional will collect a drop of blood from your finger to measure your total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose. Your health screening results will be available immediately. The on-site nurse will review your results and share health and wellness resources that are available to you. Individual information is confidential. The City of Saint Paul will receive a group report that summarizes the results of the health screening events, but will not receive your personal information.
Employees who are currently insured with Medica by City of Saint Paul may participate in the onsite health screening. You will need to sign a consent form prior to your screening.
Each screening takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes from start to finish.
It is not required that you fast though LDL cholesterol and triglycerides results are impacted by recent food intake; therefore these tests are most accurate after fasting for 9 – 12 hours. Please remember to drink plenty of water when fasting.
Yes, you are able to drink black coffee (no milk/cream or sweetener) before your health screening and take medications as normally scheduled.
Yes. To cancel or change your appointment, go back into the registration tool. Follow the instructions to cancel/change your appointment. .

The results received during an onsite screening are comparable to a blood draw performed by your doctor. The machines used by the screeners are calibrated and have quality control checks to ensure accuracy. Please remember that a person’s cholesterol level does change frequently and is affected by the food they eat, any medication (prescription and over the counter), their body chemistry, and metabolism.
Each screening technician is a trained health care professional, including registered nurses (RN), licensed practical nurses (LPN), licensed vocational nurses (LVN), respiratory therapists, and medical technicians.
You are able to submit results from a screening with your doctor that occurs between January 1, 2019-September 30, 2019. Bring the Physician’s Results Request form to your appointment and have them send the completed form to RedBrick Health. You can get the Physician’s Results Request form through the MY HEALTH REWARDS portal (click on the Health and Wellness tab from your account).
