Tell us about the pillar of wellbeing you are thriving in and what you are doing:
I am thriving within the Physical pillar through a return to in-person group fitness classes at my local gym over the past four months. My overall physical fitness has continued to improve, and I have remained smoke-free for over 3.5 years. I quit smoking in 2019 by using phone coaching provided by Healthy Saint Paul after smoking for almost two decades.
How has the Healthy Saint Paul program improved your quality of life, work-life balance, or job satisfaction?
Healthy Saint Paul continues to inspire me to maintain a high level of physical activity through:
- walking on my own and with my husband and colleagues
- attending weekly fitness classes
- obtaining a gym discount through Medica
- using Journeys as a steppingstone to healthy pathways and so much more.
What do you aspire to improve in your wellbeing over the next year?
I’m continuing to improve my strength and overall fitness as well as incorporate a more consistent mindfulness practice.
What have you done to improve your wellbeing in the last year?
I returned to in-person group fitness classes at my local gym and have slowly increased attendance to five classes a week. I now average 11,000 steps per day and have lost nearly 10lbs. I’ve remained smoke free and am now working on incorporating a mindfulness practice into my daily routine.
I’m more confident, healthier, and happier than I was last year.
Thank you for sharing, Claire!
