How has the Healthy Saint Paul program improved your quality of life, work life balance, or job satisfaction?
With daily reminders that are hyper focused on my own goals, I am gently encouraged each day to be in a state of mind that fosters progress and ambition. The rewards system provides daily positive reinforcements for my accomplishments, and even larger rewards for sticking with my multi step goals. Even if I relapse or fall behind on a goal, I still receive positive reminders that paths to wellbeing are not linear; this makes it so much easier to get back up on the horse and not feel defeated.
What do you aspire to improve in your wellbeing over the next year?
This year, I’m focusing on my physical health. I aspire to return to a more physically fit body, where I can participate in activities that I used to enjoy. I have already registered for athletic events and am encouraging friends and family to join me.
Tell us about the pillar of wellbeing you are thriving in and what you are doing:
My emotional wellbeing has been thriving. I am now able to take a step back and look at the whole picture; realize that wellbeing is a journey rather than a destination, take pride in my headway, and look forward to the progress ahead.
What have you done to improve your wellbeing in the last year?
This past year, I have utilized Healthy Saint Paul to maintain a focus on my emotional health. The biggest improvement I have made this year, is that I have grown my support system. I now have an entire City’s worth of employees to share victories with, compete in friendly challenges with, and to ask for advice. Seeing other people’s ups and downs reminds me that it is okay for me to have them too. I have also used habit tracking to remind myself daily that my mindset needs to remain positive, and that I can take physical steps towards a healthier mind every day. I have been getting more sleep, practiced less reactive parenting, and built stronger relationships by being unguarded and trusting.
